POLICE REPORT
Rockdale Police are hoping a pair of arrests made last week have put an end to a rash of counterfeit bill sightings around town.
Zachary Alan Christensen, 17, and a 14-year-old male were arrested last Wednesday and Thursday and charged with forgery by passing.
Christensen remains in the county jail in lieu of $6,000 bond and the 14-year-old’s case is being handled through juvenile authorities.
Last week, Rockdale Police Lt. Stephen Goodrich said several “Hollywood money” bills had been passed. He said the bills appear to have been fake money printed for the express purpose of being used in films.
Goodrich said the two arrests clear the cases police had begun last week.
ACCIDENT—Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Green-Cameron (US 79) intersection.
Drivers were listed as Richard Cranford and Yvette Tibbetts, both of Rockdale.
Police said Tibbetts was treated at Little River-Rock-dale Hospital.
DOG CALLS—Police filed two cases in connection with “cruelty to non-livestock animals” during the past week.
Goodrich said one involved a dog being shot and the other a dog being abandoned.
Other offense investigations begun during the week included theft, evading arrest, burglary of a vehicle, tampering/fabricating physical evidence and violation of protective order.
CITATIONS—There were 23 citations issued by police during the past week, included 10 for speeding and two each for failure to maintain financial responsibility-second offense, expired registration and expired driver’s license.
SERVICE CALLS— Police responded to 189 calls during the seven-day reporting period and there were 102 calls received through the 911 emergency system.by dispatchers.
