Police made five felony arrests over the past week with one being a 43-yearold man from Austin. Officer Jeremiah Harden made the arrest July 7 at 9:15 a.m. and charged the man with possession of control substance penalty group 1 1-4 grams and also for six charges of burglary of a vehicle and for one charge of theft $100-750.
Sgt. Byron Frankland arrested a 31-year-old Rockland man Friday at 7:15 p.m. The arrested man was charged on a local warrant for family violence assault on a pregnant person and also for two other local warrants for interference with emergency request for assistance.
An 18-year-old woman from Waco was arrested Saturday by officer Christian Fain for engaging in organized criminal activity.
Officer Dillion Ford arrested an 18-year-old Rockdale man Sunday at 7:30 p.m. on a local warrant for prohibited sexual conduct of ancestor or descendant by blood or adoption.
Ford also arrested a 42-year-old Rockdale woman Sunday at 7:30 p.m. for a local warrant for prohibited sexual conduct of ancestor or descendant by blood or adoption.
On Saturday at 3:03 p.m., Sgt. Michael Hubnik responded to Main and Cameron Avenue intersection for a two-vehicle accident.
Officer Fain responded to Cameron Avenue and San Gabriel on Friday at 1:23 p.m. for a two-vehicle accident.
Officers also issued 21 citations for speeding and other violations of the law.
Police responded to 313 calls with 109 of them being 911 calls.
FIRE CALLS
• July 6, 5:54 a.m., Gause Volunteer Fire Department, along with AMR and Milano VFD and Milam County Sheriff’s Office, responded to US 79 and CR 348 for a major accident involving two vehicles and an 18-wheeler. Details of this fatal accident were reported in last week’s edition.
• Thursday, 12:32 p.m., Rockdale VFD responded to Pecan Grove for a pole on fire .
