POLICE REPORT

A man who fled from police—first in a vehicle that went into a field by the RHS baseball diamond and later on foot—is still being sought.

Lt. Stephen Goodrich said at 3:38 p.m. last Wednesday (Dec. 12) police attempted to pull over the driver for speeding in a school zone when he sped away.

Goodrich said the chase went through streets in the neighborhood of the high school and at one point the driver went into a field between RHS and the baseball complex.

“The vehicle stopped behind Sonic and the driver fled on foot,” Goodrich said.

“The passenger remained in the vehicle and was cooperative,” he said.

Goodrich said a small amount of meth and marijuana were found.

MINI-BIKE—A report of a man riding a mini-bike on a sidewalk ended in a drug arrest Dec. 11.

Kenneth Ray Griffith, 60, was charged with possession of controlled substance (4 to 200 grams), possession of marijuana (less than two ounces), bond surrender out-of-county possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram).

He remains in custody on $68,000 bond.

ACCIDENT—One person was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 5:53 p.m. Friday at the South Wilcox (FM 908)-Mill intersection.

Police said Darla Hoskins of Rockdale was transported by an AMR ambulance to an area hospital.

Other driver was listed as Rick Burkelson of Rockdale.

Damages to both vehicles were termed major, according to police.

SEX ASSAULTS—Police began two sexual assault of a child investigations during the past year.

Goodrich said one involved an outcry by a 16-year-old female and concerned a family member.

He said the other referenced an incident involving a young female “four or five years ago” in Rockdale.
