POLICE REPORT

Rockdale police began several investigations during the past week including one each of theft against elderly and assault causing bodily injury.

Lt. Stephen Goodrich said the theft against elderly probe includes the taking of several televisions from a Rockdale home.

Goodrich said police were summoned as a female victim was being treated for injuries she said were the result of a beating.

He said police interviewed the subject, but she stopped cooperating with them.

“We haven’t been able to contact her again,” Goodrich said. “We don’t believe she was seriously injured.”

Police were also called to two criminal trespass incidents involving the same person at the same local business.

Other incidents reported to police during the week included curfew violation, debit/credit card abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

ARRESTS—There were no felony arrests during the past seven days.

ACCIDENT—One person was transported to Little River Rockdale Hospital after a collision at 3:20 p.m. Friday in the 1500 block of West Cameron Avenue (US 79).

Drivers were listed as Zachary Burton of Elgin and Samantha Aguilar of Rockdale.

WARRANTS—Police served four warrants during the week, two for criminal trespass and one each for assault causing bodily injury and driving while intoxicated.

SERVICE CALLS—Officers responded to 143 calls for service during the past week and there were 58 calls received through the 911 emergency system.

CITATIONS—Police issued 27 speeding tickets during the past week along with two for no tail lamps and one each for failure to stop for a school bus, no insurance, running a red light, curfew violation, defective headlamp, expired registration and possession of drug paraphernalia.
