The past few days have been “Concrete Week” in Rockdale with a couple of long-expected pours which will make a neighborhood, and Rockdale drivers happy. Above, concrete for the Sumuel Park splash pad was poured Monday. The water facility was delayed for financial considerations last year but reinstated after a public hearing drew extensive community support. Workers at the pad report many visits by smiling neighborhood children. Below, the corner of Murray and Meadow reopened Monday, four days after concrete was poured. It had been closed for two weeks of extensive renovation.
