POLICE REPORT

A traffic stop turned into foot chase in the pre-dawn hours on Sunday, resulting in an apprehension and four charges being filed against a 43-year-old Rockdale man.

Lt. Stephen Goodrich said Ofc. Jonathan Robertson stopped a vehicle around 1 a.m. when the driver fled the scene on foot.

Goodrich said a brief chase ensured when the subject became hung up on obstacles in the dark and was apprehended.

Larry Darnell White was charged with criminal mischief ($100 to $750), evading arrest/detention, possession of a controlled substance (less then one gram) and motion to revoke-assault breath/circulation family member.

He remains in the county jail. There is no bond on assault charge and $11,000 bond on other charges.

ARRESTS—Other felony arrests made during the past week included:

• Rodshea Devon Jones, 42, Milano, credit card/debit card abuse, released on $5,000 bond.

• Wayne Albert Franklin, 68, Rockdale, motion to proceed-possession of marijuana (less then two ounces), released on $5,000 bond.

• Leticia Nicole Martinez, 29, Taylor, unauthorized use of vehicle, in custody on $6,000 bond.

OFFENSES—Police were called to a report of burglary/vandalism during the week and also a report of a stolen “Gator” vehicle.

Other offense calls included unauthorized use of a moor vehicle, assault and misdemeanor theft.

ACCIDENTS—Police said a vehicle operated by Rebecca Bennett of Cameron was in collision with a utility pole at 8:59 p.m. Thursday at the Ackerman-Bell intersection.

Minor damages were reported.

Minor damages were reported at 10:39 p.m. Friday in a collision in the Tiger Stadium area.

Police said a vehicle driven by Paula Johnson of Rockdale was in collision with a parked vehicle registered to Michael and Linda Watson of Rockdale.

CITATIONS—Police issued 19 speeding tickets during the past week.

Other citations included six for displaying expired registration, three for driving while license invalid, two for failure to maintain financial responsibility and one each for expired driver’s license and failure to report change of name or address.

SERVICE CALLS—Officers responded to 156 calls for service during the past week and there were 81 calls received through the 911 emergency system,
