CAMERON—A 28-year-old Buckholts man, described by the prosecutor’s office, as an “illegal alien” receive a 10-year prison sentence last week after pleading guilty to injury to a child.

Prosecutor Bill Torrey said Mario Alberto Rodriguez also relinquished his parental rights and that once his criminal time has been served, the deportation process will begin.

Torrey listed other district court action as follows:

• Christina Killough Shelton, 40, Thorndale, eight-month state jail term after pleading guilty to a unauthorized use of motor vehicle.

• John Jerome Smith, 26, Houston, 10 years deferred adjudication with theft aversion course, $3,000 fine and $14.73 restitution to victim after pleading guilty to robbery.

• Katherine Eileen Martin, 50, Joshua, three years deferred adjudication $1,500 fine and $180 restitution to DPS lab after pleading guilty to possession of controlled substance (less than one gram)

• Gabriela Contreras, 19, Buckholts, three years deferred adjudication, 99-days county jail term, $2,500 fine after pleading guilty to endangering a child.

• Brandon Joseph Swann, 25, Austin, two years deferred adjudication, $2,500 fine after pleading to a lesser included Class A misdemeanor, attempted possession of controlled substance (less than one gram).

• Alyssa Joe Ramey, 22, Shreveport, La., two-day county jail term, $4,000 fine after pleading guilty to Class A misdemeanor, attempted possession of controlled substance (less than one gram).

• Bobbie Joe Blaylock, 40, Cameron, eight-month state jail term after pleading “true” to a motion to revoke probation for an original evading arrest with prior conviction.

• Amber Marie Harnar, 32, Rock-dale, 15-month state jail term after pleading guilty to possession of controlled substance (less than one gram).

• Jeremy Shaun Johnson, 39, Rockdale, two-year state jail term, $180 restitution to DPS lab after pleading guilty to possession of controlled substance (less than one gram).

• John D. Johnson, 38, Rockdale, 10-year jail term after pleading guilty to evading arrest with motor vehicle.
