At Saturday night ’s Rockdale Volunteer Department Christmas Party, Cody Pruitt was awarded Fireman of the Year which is voted on by the volunteers.
The annual event was held at the fire station after they finished road closures and traffic control for Saturday night’s Christmas parade.
Attendees enjoyed a steak and chicken dinner prepared with the help of 7 Bar Barbecue, afterward enjoying cornhole and card games and a fire pit.
Other awa rds went to Fire Marshall Herbie Vaughn for 25 years of service, Travis Fisher 15 years, John Villareal 10 years and Johnathan Young seven years.
Kyle Skala received the award for most fire calls with over 120 to his credit.
