Rockdale will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. July 12 for residents to address the annual 2020 drinking water quality report that was mailed out to water utility customers in June prior to the EPA mandated deadline of July 1.

Those with questions may attend the meeting to have any questions about the report answered.

EPA requires community water systems to deliver a Consumer Confidence Report, also known as an annual drinking water quality report, to their customers. These reports provide Americans information about their local drinking water quality.

The four-page report was mailed to citizens who pay water bills to the city and tells users where their water comes from and whether the contaminants in the water reach an amount that would be in violation of EPA standards.

Rockdale’s drinking water is from a ground water source which is susceptible to contaminants, according to the report.
