Texas Public School Week activities continue through Friday in the Rockdale ISD.

Several events have already been held.

LUNCH—The annual “Lunch With Loved Ones” events are set for Thursday at the elementary campus and Friday at the intermediate.

“Family and Friends Luncheon is Friday at the juniorhigh.

Fifth-graders take a field trip Thursday and kindergarten invites parents to a “Once Upon a Tine in Kindergarten performance at 9:30 a.m.

READING—There’s lots of reading activity.

First grade has invited parents to read to classes throughout the week and there are also parent reading opportunities at the intermediate.

There’s student singing during lunch at the intermediate.

Other activities for the final three days of the week:

Elementary

Wednesday—“Wacky Wednesday,” wear clothes backwards or inside out; ECC/RTI meetings, kindergarten.

Thursday– “Oh, the Places You’ll Go,” wear a college shirt; Kindergarten Fairy Tale Dress Rehearsal. 9 a.m.; Lunch With Loved Ones; Admission Review and Dismissal meetings; TELPAS, second grade; staff social, 5 p.m.

Friday—“Cat in the Hat,” wear favorite hat; ECC/RTI meetings, first grade; Kindergarten Fairy Tales Program, cafeteria, 9:30 a.m.; Farm Bureau presentation for second grade; distribution of Pack Pal bags.

Reminders—When bringing children to school arrive between 7:30 and 8 a.m. The school’s main door on Belton Avenue will be open. Don’t drop off students at any other location.

When picking up children in afternoon:

• Pre-K students are released on Belton Avenue.

• Kindergarten is released on Bowser Street.

• Walkers will be released following car riders.

• Any changes for your child’s way home must be made by 2:45 p.m.

Note: Parents/guardians entering the building just enter the main entrance on Belton Avenue and report to the office. Please have your photo ID available for school safety reasons.

Intermediate

Wednesday—All special classes P.E. singers during lunch; “Texas Our Texas: state song, wear favorite band shirt musician; Fourth grade readin, parents/guardians invited to read with students.

Thursday—Blue Day Music; Bluebonnet Day (state flower) wear any Texas attire; fifth-grade field trip to Inner Space Caverns; Fourth grade read-in, parents/guardians invited to read with students

Friday—Gold Day Music Meetings, “Rattle Up for Rodeo Day (wear rodeo attire; Fourth grade read-in, parents/guardians invited to read with students)

Reminders—Have your child’s name and a “happy birthday” message on the electronic marquee in the front of the building. Parents must turn in form and $10 at least one week prior to birthday.

All transportation forms must be turned in to the office 9 a.m. each day.

Parents must call the office by 2:15 p.m. when making changes. Junior-High

Wednesday—Regular schedule; Leo Club meeting, 7: 15 a.m.

Thursday—Regular schedule, PLC meetings.

Friday—Regular schedule; family and friends luncheon, Kiss the Pig.

RHS

Wednesday—Regular schedule; cheer tryouts, 4 p.m.

Thursday—Regular schedule; mock AP in English.

Friday—Regular schedule, Rotary meeting, 7:30 a.m., library

Reminders—Volunteer and Service Hour sheets, as well as NHS Community Service Hour sheets available in the office. Volunteer opportunities are posted outside the office

Yearbook is selling bottles of water for $1.

Students should report to bus stop 5 minutes before pickup; observe all rules to ensure safety; don’t park on bus loading zones on all campuses or bus routes.

Sophomore or junior students who would like to go on a six-day leadership training camp, sponsored by the Rockdale Rotary Club in June may pick up applications in the office.
