Texas Public School Week begins Monday and a number of events are planned in the Rockdale ISD including:
Elementary
• Parent Meals “Lunch With Loved Ones,” Tuesday.
• Pre-K will host a gallery walk in the hallway with parents, accompanied by the traditional parent picnic on Friday, March 8, during lunch.
• Kindergarten invites community workers to read and talk about careers.
• First grade invites parents to read to their classrooms.
• Second grade will plant seeds, provided by Tractor Supply, to learn about basic needs of plants.
• Second grade will be going to the I&GN Depot-Museum and City Park.
Intermediate
• “No Place for Hate” video during lunch.
• March 8—“Lunch With Loved Ones” barbecue, modified lunch schedule.
• Singers during lunch - March 6, third grade, 11:30 to 12; fourth grade, 12:30-1; fifth grade, 12-12:30.
• Third through fifth grades, parents invited to read to child’s class.
Junior-high
• Friday, March 9, Family and Friends Luncheon.
Also, the junior-high and high school campuses will have numerous athletic, and other events during the week, and the junior-high band will participate in UIL concert and sight reading Tuesday.
