Back to school for Rockdale area students
Happy New Year. Time to hit the books. Tablets, smart phones, laptops.
Students in all Rockdale area schools will be back in class next week and they’ll be returning over a three-day period.
Rockdale ISD students get a little extra time off. They don’t resume classes until Wednesday (Jan. 9). Rockdale teachers return Monday for a couple of work days.
Thorndale ISD and Thorndale St. Paul’s students are back Monday.
In the Milano and Gause ISDs, classes resume on Tuesday.
New track open to public Monday
The new track at the new Tiger Stadium will open for public use on Monday.
Supt. Dr. Denise Monzingo said track users should enter the stadium’s southeast gate, on Miller Street, walk westward inside the complex and turn back right through an inner fence to enter the track area.
She asked runners and walkers use the outside lanes.
“The inside lanes get the most use and wear out more quickly than the others, Dr. Monzingo added.
