Two fundraisers are upcoming for the Rockdale Scrappers 15U softball team to help them with expenses for the State Softball Tournament in Axtell.
Thursday night, June 27 Rockdale Pizza Hut will give the team 15% of all orders placed from 5 p.m. to closing if you mention this fundraiser when paying. Then a bake sale will be held this Saturday, June 29 at 8 a.m. at Walmart.
The City of Rockdale will hold their quarterly bulk waste curbside pickup on Wednesday, July 10 for city residents only with an active water and/ or trash account.
Readers may participate by calling the city at 512-446-2511 no later than Friday, July 5 at 4 p.m. City staff will need your name, address, daytime phone number and a brief description of items to be removed.
This event does not include limbs or hazardous waste materials. Residents are limited to four bulk items.

Liberty picnic set for July 7
The annual Liberty Homecoming Picnic and Cemetery Association will be held on Sunday, July 7. Bring your favorite picnic lunch and enjoy visiting with friends and family.
If you are not able to attend this year and would like to send your annual contribution of $35 per grave site for the upkeep of the cemetery, send to Bill Follis, County Road 237, Cameron, Texas 76520.
Class of 1974 reunion July 6
The R HS Class of 1974 will hold their 50th reunion on July 6 after the parade.
Classmates will meet after the Sesquicentennial Parade at the American Legion Hall for a catered lunch.
