Lucy Hill Patterson will have two coffees during July. Main Street Bookshop is the host this Friday, July 5, and the Rockdale Historical Society will host on July 12 from 9 to 11 a.m.
There will be book signings by local authors on both days. July 5 authors will be Mary Alford, Beverly Daniel, Kris Land, Greg Lawson, Shannon and Marshie Morgan. July 12’s authors will be Nathan Bryan, Susan Cole, Tamara Powell, Shari Seifert, Kristie Self and Martha Wells.
Also be sure to browse the Milam County Genealogy Society’s posters about some of Rockdale’s early pioneer families.
The RHS Class of 1974 will hold their 50th reunion on July 6 after the parade.
Classmates will meet after the Sesquicentennial Parade at the American Legion Hall for a catered lunch.
Liberty picnic set for July 7
The annual Liberty Homecoming Picnic and Cemetery Association will be held on Sunday, July 7. Bring your favorite picnic lunch and enjoy visiting with friends and family.
If you are not able to attend this year and would like to send your annual contribution of $35 per grave site for the upkeep of the cemetery, send to Bill Follis, County Road 237, Cameron, Texas 76520.
