4-H open house next Saturday

The Feed Rockdale program is run by the First Baptist Church’s Pastor Matt Higginbotham and his wife Danyelle who prepare, pack and deliver hot lunches for kids up to age 18. And they’ve been doing it for seven years.

This service is free and there are no requirements other than age. The hot lunches include fruit, fruit snacks, cookies and chips or popcorn.

Parents may sign their children up by calling the church office at 512446-5375 or the website fbcrockdaletexs.com/ feed-rockdale.

Milam County 4-H will host a 4-H Open House on Saturday, August 17, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Milam County Annex located at 806 N Crockett Avenue in Cameron.

“Students who would like to learn more about 4-H clubs or are thinking about joining should not miss this opportunity to hear about 4-H clubs, activities and the projects available,” said Milam County Extension Agent Micah Holcombe. “Students will earn about county projects, contests, teams and practices, and also receive information on local livestock shows, scholarship opportunities and much more.”

Meadowbrook hosts Operation

Christmas Child

Meadowbrook Baptist Church will host an Operation Christmas Child informational event at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, in the fellowship hall.

“There will be a guest speaker from Operation Christmas Child, refreshments, helpful information and demonstrations for gift ideas” said Pastor Stephen Ammons.

Operat ion Chr istmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, a non-denominational international relief organization.
