Peace Lutheran will be showing the 1923 silent film Martin Luther on Aug. 25 at 6:30 p.m. with live music by William Ricketts on percussion and Jennifer Bradley on piano.
The film depicts the life of the 16th century Christian reformer, Martin Luther, and traces his life from a guilt-burdened monk to his eventual break with the Roman Church.
The Christine Holcombe Scholarship Silent Auction will be held during the 4-H banquet on Sunday, Sept. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the C.H. Yoe Performing Arts Center.
Donations for the auction are needed and can be dropped off at t he e xtension office at 908 North Crockett, Suite B, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office is closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Donations will be accepted until Sept. 5.
Minerva to meet on September 10
The Annual Minerva Community Center Meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 10, at 6:30 p.m. All Minerva community members are encouraged to attend. During the meeting there will be a review both new and old business as well as electing a new trustee.
Some of the topics include upcoming community activities, building repairs and maintenance, and building use and rental.

August 27th
