RHS Class of 1968 reunion Oct. 12th
The RHS Class of 1968 is holding a reunion on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Rockdale Country Club. All class members are invited 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cafe will be open for ordering your meal.

Thorndale VFD fundraiser Oct. 13
The Thorndale Ladies Firemen Auxiliary will be hosting a turkey and dressing fundraiser dinner on Sunday, October 13 at the Thorndale Firemen’s Hall. Serving will begin at 11 a.m. with both drive through or dine in.
Plates are $15 and will include turkey, dressing, gravy, noodles, green beans, cranberry and a roll. There will be no tickets sold in advance. Desserts will be available for a free will offering.
Opening of Baumann, Connor trail October 19th
Two Milam County families, the Baumanns and the Connors, will be officially opening a 2.2mile retracment of the El Camino Real de los Tejas on their private properties in the Rancheria Grande area near Gause. The trail allows visitors to see the swales made by the wagons as well as other artifacts. The opening is on Oct. 19 and is an invitation only event.
Both families have been working with the National Park Service for over two years to complete this project, which is one of the very few private areas in Texas that will be open to the public to celebrate the early history of Texas.
The public may make reservations in parties of two by emailing staff@ elcaminorealdelostejas. Once the reservation is confirmed, the state organization will send event details.
