Candidates Night ahead on Thursday
A Meet the Candidates night for the public to become familiar with candidates on the May city and school elections ballots is set for 6 p.m. Thursday at VFW Post 6525.
It is sponsored by the post and its auxiliary, according to Rod Roderick, spokesman.
VFW Post 6525 is located at 978 West US 79.
Candidates in contested races, in alphabetical order, are:
Mayor—John King, Neil Switkowski.
Council, east ward— Joyce Dalley, Michelle Larkin.
Council, west ward— Nathan Bland, Belinda Hillhouse.
School board, place 3—Amy Ogea Casas, Jillian McEntarffer.

Free Easter Egg Hunt set Friday
The annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Fair Park
The event is free.
“Children of our community are welcome,” Denise Brock, Chamber office staffer, said.
Renaissance Villa will provide hot dogs and Kindred Hospice will provide drinks.
“The Easter Bunny may show up,” Brook said.
“Please have your child bring an Easter basket,” she said.
Rockdale ISD iTigers will bring cans which children can decorate and use as Easter baskets, Brock said.
