‘Melodie Run’ set Saturday
CALDWELL—The second Sunflower/Melodie Hope Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund 5K Run/ Walk and Kids 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk is set for Saturday, at Caldwell’s Davidson Creek Park.
It’s in honor of the late Melodie Jones, 2015 Milano High School graduate, who died in a US 79 accident.
Registration is $30 for the 5K run and $25 for the kids run.
On-line registration is at www.melodiesmeow.com.Race day registration is 8 to 8:45 a.m.
Kids run starts at 9 a.m. and the Sunflower Fun Run at 9:30 a.m.
Pageant deadline Sunday
Deadline for the Miss Rockdale Fair Queen pageant contestants is 6 p.m., Sunday.
Deliver an application (see page, 4A) and current photograph to Deedra Rawls at 716 Brazos, Rockdale, after 5 p.m.
Contestants must be 16 years old by Sept. 1, 2019 to enter the pageant.
