Rockdale area senior citizens, Wednesday morning, Oct. 16, is your day as the annual Senior Expo comes to the KC Hall.
Hours for the free event are 8 a.m. to 12-noon.
About 50 senior-oriented organizations and businesses will provide information and handouts.
There will also be flu shots from the Milam County Health Department, blood pressure and blood sugar checks and much more.
The Area Agency on Aging will review the annual Medicare Enrollment with seniors and will screen beneficiaries concerning eligibility for Low-Income Subsidy, also known as extra help.
Seniors are asked to bring Medicare card, list of prescriptions/drugs, preferred pharmacy and proof of household income.
‘Scary stories’ program topic
Former Rockdale resident Greg Lawson, now a paranormal explorer, lecturer and author, will return for this third visit to the city library at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The free program will focus on “traditional scary stories” and will include a book signing. He is the author of two books on the paranormal.
Lawson is a 26-year law enforcement officer and a 10-year military veteran. He is currently a lake patrol and underwater recovery team sergeant in Central Texas.
