Thanksgiving closings many around area
Here are holiday closings for Thanksgiving:
• Area schools are out all week.
• City Hall and the City Library will be closed both Thursday and Friday. The library will also be closed Saturday.
• Thursday garbage pickup will be made Friday and Friday pickup on Saturday.
• Post office will be closed all day Thursday.
• Banks and credit union will close Thursday only.
• The Rockdale Reporter will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Christmas at Kay
slated for Sunday
The annual Christmas at the Kay, featuring church choirs and the Communities in Concert Band, is set for 3 p.m. Sunday at the Kay Theatre.
Admission is free but organizers ask attendees to bring a canned food donation for the Rockdale Christian Services Food Pantry.
Choirs will include Rising Star Baptist Church and First Presbyterian Church, along with special guests.
Refreshments will be served by the Matinee Musical Club.
Kay Theatre offers movie on Friday
The Kay Theatre will show the movie “Toy Story 4” at 4 p.m. Friday on the Black Friday super-shopping day.
“This is something for dad or mom to do with the kids while the other shops,” Bob Burnett, spokesman, said.
Admission is $3 for those 12 and under, $5 for 13 and above. Concessions are always $1 at the Kay.
The animated movie stars the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Tony Hale, Keegan-Michael Key and Christina Hendricks.
