Turn back time Oct. 31
Yep, it is time to say goodbye to daylight saving and return to standard time. So before you go to bed on Halloween turn back the clock an hour because the change occurs at 2 a.m. DST when it becomes 1 a.m. CST.
Early voting ends Friday
Thursday and Friday are the last two days to vote early for the General Election which is Tuesday.
With those two days remaining in early voting 7, 712 people have cast ballots.
That number is more than voted early in the whole early voting period in 2016.
The total in the last presidential election for early voting was 5,922 and that number includes mail ballots.
In Rockdale 2,489 have voted early so far while the Cameron location, which was open on Saturdays while the other locations were not, has seen 2,619 votes cast.
In Thorndale 1,263 people have voted early. In Buckholts there have been 463 early votes cast so far.
Sites for early voting in the county are:
• Rockdale Civic Center, 609 Mill—Oct. 28-30, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Bea’s Kitchen, 101 East Main, Cameron—Oct. 28-30, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Thorndale VFW, 304 East Moerbe—Oct. 28-30, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Buckholts Community Center, 110 West Main— Oct. 28-30, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
