Senior Expo ahead Oct. 10 in Cameron
The annual Milam County TRIAD Senior Expo is set for 8 a.m. to 12-noon Wednesday (Oct. 10), in the Cameron VFW Hall.
The free event features 30 “vendors” who will provide information on topics ranging from Medicare to senior living.
There will be information on new legislation regarding death deeds and transferring real property without going through probate court.
There will also be flu shots, glucose screenings, blood pressure checks, free products, demonstrations, many speakers and much more.
Seniors may bring old medications for disposal.
Those attending may register for door prizes. Winners must be present to win.
Door prize drawings begin at 9 a.m. and continue throughout the morning.
Columbus Day closings for some Monday
Monday is Columbus Day and, while virtually all retail businesses will be open, there are some closings around the Rockdale area.
Rockdale financial institutions will be closed Monday, as will the post office.
City Hall and the library will be open and there will be regular garbage pickup.
There will not be classes in the Rockdale and Gause ISDs, which have teacher development days scheduled. Classes as usual in Milano, Thorndale and Thorndale St. Paul’s.
