Thanksgiving lunch set for Saturday
The 22nd annua l Thanksgiving Community Outreach Thanksgiving Dinner will be held Saturday at First Baptist Church from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We greatly appreciate any time, effort or donations you your church, business or organization is able to bless our community with,” said organizer Pam King.
Gause VFD fish fry, dance on Saturday
The Gause Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will host a Fall Street Dance and Fish Fry on Saturday.
Fish plates and other concessions will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by the street dance featuring the Southern Groove Band from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
Tea and water will be provided, but attendees are asked to bring their beverage of choice and chairs.
Milam County
Brown Santa information
Applications are now available for the Milam County Brown Santa program. Milam County Sheriff Mike Clore said the Milam County Brown Santa Program is back this year, though it will be a little different than previous years. This year will be drive-through pickup only.
Applications are available at the Milam County Sheriff’s Office for those in need. The application deadline is Dec. 1. Drivethrough pickup will be Dec. 14-21.
Those eligible include Milam County children aged 2-12. Applicants must bring their Medicaid card or WIC cards with the child names, current utility bill, birth certificate for kids not in school, school report cards or progress reports and valid Texas parent ID.
Anyone interested in donating new, unwrapped toys can do that at the Sheriff`s Office. For questions, call 254-697-7033.
