RHS senior Tatiana Olivares was nominated by Texas 17th District Congressman Pete Sessions for the prestigious United States Naval Academy after completing a grueling interview session by 14 members of the Academy Selection Board on Nov. 19 in College Station.

Sessions wrote to Olivares saying, “As you are aware, the standards for nomination are very high and the competition top caliber. I am pleased to inform you that I have nominated you as an alternate to the United States Naval Academy.”

On Tuesday, Olivares told The Reporter that she should find out soon whether she made it or not, and we will keep our readers informed.
