Benefit for family who lost home

Fire claimed the home of Kristi Martin, Clemente Abila and son Easton early Saturday morning. Martin is director of Tiger Town Learning Center.

Tiger Town will hold a benefit for the family at their facility on Sunday, Jan. 29, selling chili and desserts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Genealogica Society meets

January 24th

The Milam County Genealogical Society will hold their January meeting at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library.

The meeting will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 24. Visitors are always welcome.

St. Paul BBQ fundraiser

February 5th

S t . Pau l Lut he r an Church and School in Thorndale will hold its annual barbecue brisket dinner and live auction fundraiser on Sunday, Feb. 5, at the Thorndale Fireman’s Hall on FM 486 North.

The meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with dine-in plates to be purchased at the door for $15. Desserts will be available for a free will donation.

Plates may also be purchased in the drive through to-go line. Meal will include brisket, barbecue sauce, pinto beans, potato salad, noodles and all the fixings.

The live auction featuring hand-crafted items, baked goods, canned goods and items of special interest for all ages begins at 12:30 p.m.
