Starting May 8, the Rockdale Christian Services food pantry is making a major change to its open days.
The pantry will be open every Monday from 10 a.m. until noon except for federal holidays. This will be the only day the pantry will be open each week.
The Rockdale Historical Society Depot Museum meets at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Depot.
“Please come join us and enjoy the history and excitement of the museum,” said Pat Watson, museum volunteer.
San Gabriel
Baptist hosts gospel singing
San Gabr iel Baptist Church will host an old-fashioned gospel singing at 6 p.m. Saturday.
The evening will feature congregational southern gospel music as well as traditional hymns.
Refreshments will be served in the fellowship hall following the singing.
The church is located at 263 County Road 421A in the community of San Gabriel, six miles north of Thorndale just off FM 486 North. The pastor is Tim Cheatham.
Nelson family reunion set for May 7th
The 87th annual Nelson family reunion will be held on May 7 at First Baptist Church of Milano.
Doors open at 1 p.m. and a barbecue brisket and sausage lunch will be provided.
Attendees are asked to bring sides, desserts and silent auction items.
