On Thursday, May 18, Col. Chad Foster, garrison commander at Fort Cavazos in Killeen, will be coming to the Patterson Civic Center in Rockdale, to talk about leadership. The Leadership Rockdale program, working with the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce and in partnership with the City of Rockdale and Rockdale MDD, are the event sponsors.

The Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library will be closed May 15-19.
New floors are being installed on the main f loor. The library will reopen on Monday, May 22.

Musical Club
Friday Coffee at the Lucy Hi l l Pat ter son Memorial Library will be held on Friday, May 12, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Sponsor will be Matinee Musical Club, who will be celebrating National Music Week.
The Matinee Musical Club is the oldest organization in Rockdale and was started in 1909 by Mary Ann Coffield Perry and has been operating continuously since then.
Alcoa retirees to meet June 8
Rockdale Alcoa retirees next meeting will be held Thursday, June 8, at the Thorndale Veteran’s Memorial Hall.
Doors open at 5 p.m. with a business meeting at 5:45 p.m. A fried fish dinner will be served for $15 each. The dessert group will be last names starting A-L.
