Dr. Royal Johnson, pastor of Rising Star Baptist Church, has been elected presi dent of the Rockdale Ministerial Alliance and is the first African American pastor to lead the organization.
Rockdale Ministerial Alliance is a group of pastors from Rockdale area churches who come together to promote Christianity and good works. The organization holds services together for many of the Christian holidays.
Friends and family of the St. Joseph’s Cemetery, located at the intersection of US 77 and US 79, will hold a clean-up day from 8 a.m. to 12-noon Saturday.
Lunch will be provided.
Brown Santa golf tourney set for July 15
The 13th annual David Greene Milam County Brown Santa Golf Tournament fundraiser will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at Rockdale Country Club with a four-man scramble.
“The Brown Santa program accepts donations and other charitable items to provide Christmas gifts to low-income families all over Milam County and it was Sheriff David Greene’s passion,” said Milam County Sheriff Mike Clore.
Hole sponsorships are available at $100 per sign.
