Street Fair to be held Thursday night
Chamber on Tap will again hold their street fair tonight (Thursday) from 5 to 9 p.m. on Bell Street between Ackerman and Main Streets.
There will be lots of booths selling crafts as well as live music, dancing, food, beer and wine.
Free backpacks at VFW July 29
VFW Auxiliary Post 6525 will hand out school supplies this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12-noon at the post.
Backpacks are for all grades pre-K through 12th.
Watermelon, water fun set for August 5
The Chamber’s First Saturday Farmer’s Market will be held Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with fun for the whole family.
In addition to all of the booths, there will be both an adult and kid’s watermelon eating contests, a tug of war with a splash and a water gun game.
The chamber is also raising money which will go to Rockdale Elementary School teachers for supplies. See ad on page 2A.
Pack Pals needs your donations
Pack Pals is requesting help for the upcoming school year. The items needed are individual servings of entrees, breakfast foods and snacks.
Financial donations can be made at Citizens National Bank.
The organization is also in need of small shampoo, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes which they send home with the students during the first week of school.
