Alcoa retirees meet Sept. 14 in Thorndale

Se ver a l c hurche s have come together to offer a free option for parents who need help with their kindergarten through fifth-grade kids on Fridays since RISD has moved to a four-day schedule.

The programs will be at a different church each Friday and every church will have their own program that will all be a little different.

First Fridays — First Baptist Church from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. with lunch served.

Second Fridays — St. John’s United Methodist Church from 8:45 a.m. to 12-noon.

Th i rd F r id ay s — Meadowbrook Baptist Church 9 a.m. to noon-12 and snacks will be served.

Four th Fr idays — Peace Lutheran Church from 8:45 to 12-noon with lunch provided.

Alcoa retirees meet Sept. 14 in Thorndale

The next meeting of the Rockdale Alcoa Retirees will be Thursday, Sept. 14. The meeting will be held at the Thorndale Veteran’s Memorial Hall (formally known as the VFW Hall). Doors open at 5 p.m. A business meeting begins at 5:45.

Dessert group will be last name M through Z. A fried fish meal will be $15.

Genealogical Society meets August 22nd 

The Milam County Genealogical Society will hold their August meeting at the Lucy Hill Patterson Library on Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m.
