Sheriff Mike Clore and the Milam County Sheriff’s Office is kicked off their 14th annual Brown Santa program last week and the organization is taking applications for citizens in the county who may benefit from the program. Brown Santa is for children ages two to 12 only.

Requirements are:

• You must have a Medicaid card or a WIC card with the child’s name on it.

• A current utility bill in your name.

• A birth certificate for children who are not in school.

• School-aged children must present a current report card/progress report.

• Parent or guardian must have a valid Texas ID.

Applications can be picked up at the Milam County Sheriff’s Office. The last day for applications is Dec. 1. This year will be pick up only, no deliveries. The pick up days will be Dec. 14-21.

Donations are also accepted. New unwrapped toys (no shoes or clothing) will be accepted at the Sheriff’s office.

Anyone who wishes to make a monetary donation may do so at Classic Bank or mailed to Brown Santa/ Wynema Adams, Milam County Sheriff’s Office, 512 North Jefferson Avenue, Cameron, TX 76520.
