Friday deadline for Reporter’s Santa Letters
Deadline to turn in Santa letters to The Reporter is Friday.
Letters need to contain both the first and last names of the child.
They can be dropped off at the office, 221 East Cameron. Rockdale Elementary School students may use the drop-box near the school office.
Letters will be published in the Dec. 20 edition of The Reporter.
Light contest judging set Sunday night
If you want to be judged in the annual Christmas lighting and decorations contest, held by the Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center, here’s the date to remember:
Sunday, Dec. 9.
After dark that evening judges will make the rounds and bestow awards in various categories:
Best overall, best lights, best yard, best whimsical, best animated, best display by a business.
It will be dark by 6 p.m. so please have your lights on by that time.
Winners are invited to the Chamber of Commerce Rock House, 1203 West Cameron (US 79) at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 to receive certificates and for a group photo.
