RISD Distinguished Alumni Friday
The Rockdale ISD will hold its Distinguished Alumni induction ceremony on Friday at 5 p.m. in the RHS auditorium.
This year’s alumni include RHS Class of 1927 George Sessions Perry, Aycock High School Class o 1937 Susie Sansom-Piper, RHS Class of 1960 Lawrence R. Anderson, RHS Class of 1968 Mike E. Brown, RHS Class of 1970 James B. Crow and RHS Class of 1982 Clayton Wolf.
At 3 p.m. that day in the high school cafeteria, there will be a question- and-answer session with the inductees and members of their families and friends.
Father-daughter dance Feb. 16th
The 16t h a nnua l Father-Daughter Dance will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, in the Rockdale Junior High commons.
Tickets are $20 per couple and $5 for each additional daughter, and they can be purchased at Rockdale Signs and Photography and Mr. Gatti’s Pizza.
Rockdale Signs will be there to photograph couples with affordable packages.
Rising Star fetes leaders’ 16th anniversary
Rising Star Baptist Church will celebrate the 16th anniversary of Pastor R.L. and First Lady Margaret Johnson as church leaders on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m.
The Sunday morning guest speaker will be Pastor Deborah Taylor of Lake Providence Baptist Church in Gilmer while the af ternoon speaker will be Dr. Anthony Lang of West Union Baptist Church in Bryan.
