A fundraiser benefiting several youth sports organizations will be held at East Bell Taphouse on Saturday, March 23 at 3 p.m.
The beneficiaries are the Girls Softball League, Soccer Association, Baseball Association, Football and Cheer and Wake Aquatics.
Prize drawings, a silent auction and cake sales will be available for attendees.
The first meeting of the Rockdale Alcoa Retirees for 2024 will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at Thorndale Veteran’s Memorial Hall.
A business meeting will begin at 5:45 p.m. where the election of officers will be held.
A fried fish meal will be $15 and annual dues will be collected. Dessert group will be last name A-L.

Rockdale community giveaway
Luke Ten Thirty Three, Inc. is sponsoring a community giveaway of clothing, shoes, household goods, furnishings and decor on March 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the 100 block of Plum Street.
There will games and prizes for kids along with a bounce house and firetruck tours.
Gently used items may be donated on March 15 from 12-5 p.m.
