Students in the Rockdale ISD who choose all-remote (on-line) as school starts won’t be able to participate in extra-curricular activities or take elective classes.
School trustees met Friday and approved those restrictions.
According to the board resolution, the extracurricular restriction also applies to practices and performances.
Here are the courses which may not be taken by on-line students:
RHS—Career and Technical Education, Advanced Floral Design, Ag Equipment Design & Fabrication, Ag Structures & Metal Technologies.
Career Preparation, Computer Maintenance, Construction Management I, Construction Management II, Graphic Design II, Health Science Theory with Lab, Instructional Practices.
Practicum in Construction, Practicum in Graphic Design, Practicum in Manufacturing, Welding I, Welding II.
Athletic Training, Office/ Library/Teacher Aide, PALS, Yearbook.
Junior-high—(The following courses are not being offered at all):
PreAP Math-sixth grade, PreAP English-sixth grade, PreAP Science-eighth grade; PreAP Social Studies-eighth grade.
