Rockdale Police have issued an arrest warrant in connection with an incident in which they said a man trying to repossess a trailer was beaten on the face and arms with a fireplace implement.

Lt. Stephen Goodrich said police were advised Saturday night that the incident had occurred earlier in the day.

“The complainant said he went to an address to repossess the trailer for lack of payment when a subject attacked him,” Goodrich said.

Goodrich said the victim received “a pretty lick on the head which required stitches” and also was hit on the forearms.

An arrest warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was issued, according to police.

OFFENSES—A variety of other offenses were investigated by police during the past seven days.

Those included driving while license invalid, theft ($100 to $750), theft (less than $100), reckless driving, assault by contact/ threat, accident involving damage (less than $200), public intoxication, criminal trespass, resist arrest, search or transport, failure to ID/giving false info, theft (less than $100) with previous conviction, cruelty to non-livestock animal and unlawful disclosure of intimate or promotion of visual material.

ACCIDENT—One traffic accident was reported during the past seven days.

That occurred at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Sonic Drive-In parking lot.

Drivers were listed Savannah Molina of Rockdale and Able Robles of Taylor.

Police said there were no injuries and termed damages “minor” to both vehicles.

CITATIONS—Rockdale police issued three citations over the past week, one each for speeding, running a stop sign and duties upon striking a fixed object.

SERVICE CALLS— Rockdale police officers responded to 172 calls for services during the past seven days.

There were also 95 calls received through the 911 emergency system answered by dispatchers at the Rockdale Police Station.

ARRESTS—There were no felony arrests made during the week. Misdemeanor arrests included assault by contact/threat, criminal trespass and failure to identify/giving false information.
