A podcast recorded by a national magazine in the office of Reporter Editor Mike Brown—featuring Brown and two staffers from the publication—was released online Monday.
The 51-minute question-and-answer session, with Brown, National Review Senior Editor Jay Nordlinger and magazine contributor Kevin Williamson, focuses on Brown’s 45-year Reporter career and also includes a general discussion of community newspapers, their meaning and future.
Released at the same time was a longer, online only, version of the profile on Brown which ran in the June 24 issue of the print magazine.
There are links to both, along with a sidebar, featuring commentary by Nordlinger, at https://www.rockdalereporter.com/news/mike-brown-prettypunny.
National Review posted the podcast, and expanded online story, early Monday morning as the lead article on the magazine’s website and it remained as the lead until shortly before 2 p.m.
Nordlinger and Williamson visited Rockdale, and The Reporter, in April. The expanded online story posted Monday includes photographs, taken by Nordlinger, in The Reporter, and also mentions a couple of downtown businesses.
