Residents dump 36 tons of trash Saturday

Rockdalians got serious with their spring cleaning on Saturday and filled up nine 30-cubicfoot containers with trash at city’s spring Stash Your Trash event at Fair Park. This equates to 36 tons of trash.

Another 15 to 20 loads of brush and limbs was taken to the drop off point on Beverly Drive that morning as well, according to Public Works Director Jerald Brunson.

Trucks and trailers started lining up at 6:15 a.m. to get rid of unwanted trash at the city’s Stash Your Trash event on Saturday and they didn’t stop until about 11:30 a.m. Another Stash Your Trash event will be held later this fall.
