Dr. John M. Weed III, who returned to his home town to begin his medical practice 44 years ago this summer, will be honored with a retirement reception Friday at the Patterson Center.
Hours are 5 to 8 p.m.
Dr. Weed is a native Rockdalian and a 1964 RHS graduate.
He got his undergraduate degree at Texas Tech, went on to the University of Texas Medical Branch-Galveston and did his internship at John Peter Smith Hospital.
He is a former hospital district chair and is current president of the Rockdale Municipal Development District.
