SMITHVILLE—Rockdale High School Big Blue Band students competed in UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest at Smithville High School.
The Big Blue Band Brass Quartet earned a Division 1 (Superior) rating and advanced to the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest in May. Members are: Nicholas Acevedo, Isaac Fuentes, Carson King and Adrian Rubio.
“Our students represented our community very well,” said Director Adrian Acevedo. “We are very proud of all the participants for being well prepared for this contest and we would like to extend and big thank you to Dyan Shelander for helping us with piano accompaniments for our soloists.”.
