The Rockdale ISD Board of Trustees met in a special meeting Monday night.
Members voted to extend Superintendent Denise Monzingo’s contract through the 2023-2024 school year and authorized the board president to enter into contract negotiations.
"The board was pleased to extend Dr. Monzingo’s contract through the 23-24 school year. Her stewardship of the district has been unmatched. During the period under review last night (Monday), Dr. Monzingo’s leadership of the district and the team she has assembled allowed the district to set the standard for maneuvering through the pandemic and all of the challenges the schools faced. We look forward to continuing to work with Dr. Monzingo," said board President Troy Zinn.
