The ACE/iTiger program has wrapped-up its fall semester in Rockdale. Teachers have worked hard to help students increase grades and have a better understanding of subject matters. Students have attended tutorials sessions even through this year’s challenges of COVID-19, staggered school times and no late after-school buses.

Many students began this year attending online schooling, so tutorial classes started small, but most students are back in the school rooms and tutorial classes are almost back to normal size. Staggered bus schedules have created creative opportunities to find ways to hold morning ACE/iTiger classes at all campuses.

The ACE/iTiger program will start back up Jan. 11 and run through May 14, followed by our summer school session in June. This will conclude Rockdale’s current grant for the ACE after-school program. The grant was awarded to Rockdale as a threeyear grant, then later it was extended two years through the 21st CCLC program, supported by the U.S. Department of Education. A grant proposal is being crafted to submit to TEA for a new ACE grant that will allow the afterschool program to continue in Rockdale for another five years.
