Rockdale ISD is looking for members for our School Health Advisory Council (SHAC). The group is charged by the Texas Education Agency to provide support for an age-appropriate health education program, as well as early intervention and prevention strategies that can easily be supported by local families and community stakeholders.
“Recent legislation has put a great deal of new responsibility on the SHAC so we will focus on training and review of these new expectations at our meetings. We will also have various community organizations come speak to the SHAC and provide opportunities for you to ask questions and share your thoughts,” Assistant Superintendent Pam Kaufmann said.
Remote attendance will be offered, but in-person participation is encouraged when possible.
The meetings will be at 4:30 p.m., four times a year.
