Rockdale’s annual Community Thanksgiving Service, sponsored by the Rockdale Ministerial Alliance, is set for 6:30 p.m. Monday at Rising Star Baptist Church. That’s Monday and it’s a change from the traditional Tuesday date for the community service. Minister Jason Hollinger of Murray Street Church of Christ, president of the Ministerial Alliance, said speaker for the service will be R. L. Love, pastor of First Assembly of God. He said congregational singing and music will be led by the Rockdale Community Choir. “Our contribution will go as a donation to be used as a scholarship for the Live Free ministry which operates out of Rising Star Baptist Church,” Hollinger said. A meal, prepared by Rising Star Baptist Church, follows the service.
