Rockdale’s January tax returns from the state’s comptroller’s office to an early slide with receipts down by almost half a cent from the December 2020 numbers which were reported in January of this year.
But in the January numbers reported in February, Milam County took a huge hit over returns from last month’s number dipping almost 65%.
Rockdale Municipal Development District also dropped into the red in January from the December total.
Milano saw a big increase over its December numbers and overall so far is outpacing its 2020 sales-tax total.
Thorndale and Cameron also recorded increases from the December numbers in the January report. Buckholts, Lexington and
Buckholts, Lexington and Caldwell also took hits in the February report of January numbers with them all falling into the red. Of those three towns only Lexington’s number is ahead of the year to date total.
Rockdale’s number is still a bit ahead over its January numbers from last year, according to the current report.
While Milam County is down by almost 50% from last year’s numbers and the MDD is down .75% from 2020 numbers.
