For the second time in a matter of weeks, a drug bust was conducted i n Rockdale last Wednesday. The first drug bust happened on Oct. 18 just south of town.

According to Milam County Sheriff Mike Clore, “At approximately 5:30 in the morning on Nov. 2, a joint operation involving the Milam County District Attorney’s Office, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Milam County Sheriff’s Office, the Criminal Investigation Division of the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Rockdale Police Department executed a search warrant at an address in the 500 block of East Cameron Ave in Rockdale.”

“Subsequent to this search warrant, controlled substances including crystal meth, oxycodone and fentanyl were seized, along with multiple weapons,” he added. “Two individuals were arrested: Andrew Alan Nipps and Jolonda Lee Ann McKellar are both charged with felony manufacture/delivery of methamphetamines, felony manufacture/delivery of oxycodone, felony possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) and felon in possession of a firearm.”

The f irst dr ug bust occurred on Oct. 18 when another joint effort by Milam County Sheriff’s Department, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department and the Criminal Investigation Division of the Texas Department of Public Safety resulted in the seizure of over 1,000 grams of drugs and numerous weapons.

The seizure occurred on Russell Drive just south of Rockdale when a search warrant was executed.

Two people were arrested including Phillip Pounder, 44, of Rockdale and Chrystal Rivision, 43, of Thrall. Both are in Milam County Jail, each on $925,000 bond. A third person, Juan Avila, was arrested on site for traffic violations.
