MILANO—The City pf Rockdale has been awarded $200,000 from the Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District to assist in its replacement of old water lines.

The POSGCD announced grants awarded to water utilities in Burleson and Milam Counties, an annual program of the district.

In 2020, the district awarded five grants totaling approximately one million dollars for programs to conserve groundwater. It has awarded approximately $14.55 million since 2006.

Other 2020 grants:

• Southwest Milam WSC, $130,714 to replace obsolete water lines.

• Milano WSC, $64,500 to replace obsolete water meters.

• Marlow WSC, $75,341 to replace obsolete water lines.

• Clara Hills C.A., awarded $213,575 to replace obsolete water lines and hydrants.

• Burleson County MUD No. 1, $315,870 to replace obsolete water lines.
