Rockdale High School Valedictorian Arianna Eastridge and Salutatorian Kaitlyn Rash both have firm plans on what they will be doing as their high school careers come to an end Friday.
Eastridge, who is the daughter of Antoinette Martinez, is heading to the University of Texas in the fall.
She plans on majoring in pharmacy.
While she is looking forward to her coming college days, she has fond memories of her days at Rockdale High.
“I think the best feel-good memory would probably be winning the bell during Battle of The Bell. Riding in the fire truck, ringing the bell around town, felt so good, and it was so nice to see my fellow seniors having so much fun with something we worked so hard to get.”
She is thankful for the support of her family and friends, she said, especially her mom.
“I would also like to give a special thank you to my mother for being such a big role model to me and for always pushing me to try my best in everything I do,” she said.
Rash said she is going to miss the friends she made during her high school years.
“I enjoyed my friend group’s lunch table because we always had a conversation filled with laughter going on. I enjoyed the moments during class where my friends and I would fight to hold back our laughter because we were already on thin ice with the teacher. I guess I enjoyed the moments where I was truly a teenager where my main focus was trying to think of something funny to say to my friends.”
She is heading the Blinn College with plans to transfer to Texas A&M, The University of Texas or Sam Houston State.
From there she intends to go to Baylor for law school and to one day be an assistant district attorney.
