The Rockdale Junior High will host a Family Art and Science Night along with the Rockdale Junior High Book Fair on April 25 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The night will be filled with many activities, and visitors will be able to tour our student art gallery.
The Art Fair is where students have the opportunity to show off their hard work to friends and family. Student artwork is displayed throughout the building.
It is a come-and-go event where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful RJH student artwork. Students will earn extra credit if they attend with a parent/guardian.
Make sure to sign in on the student/parent sign in sheet. Student awards will be displayed to honor their artwork, and there will be four categories: Design, Drawing, Painting and 6th grade art.
Awards will be given for Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention.
The Science night will involve a variety of STEM activities where students can compete against their peers.
Come join the fun with the catapult, egg drop and spaghetti tower: Catapult begins at 5:15 p.m., the Spaghetti Tower begins at 5:45 p.m. and the Egg Drop begins at 6:15 p.m.
The Solar oven will be available the entire time. What is a Solar oven? Well, students can create and take home a solar oven. Come out for some fun competition! Prizes are available in each challenge.
The Book Fair will be held in the RJH library. Parents and students will be able to browse the selection of books and purchase books on site. The librarian, Mrs. Smith, will have a basket of goodies to raffle.
Rockdale Junior High would like to invite everyone to come out and join the fun at the RJH Family Art, Science night and Book Fair.
